Lice Detector is designed to protect your privacy and your children's. The app works entirely on your phone: it does not create accounts, does not require sign-in, and does not send your photos or personal data to any server.
The app does not collect, transmit or sell personal data. There is no cloud, no analytics, no advertising tracker and no third-party SDK that profiles you. All processing — the live magnifier, the filters and the on-photo analysis — happens locally on your phone.
The camera is used only to show the live magnified preview and to take photos when you tap the shutter. The video stream is never recorded or uploaded: it is processed in real time on the device to enhance what you see.
Photos you choose to save are kept only in the app's private area on your phone. You can view them in the Archive and delete them whenever you want. A photo leaves your device only if you decide to share it, through your phone's share menu.
The app is meant to be used by a parent or carer to check a child's hair. It collects no information about the child and requires no data about them. Lice Detector is an assistance tool, not a medical device, and does not provide a diagnosis: if in doubt, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Some sections show links to useful products on external stores (such as Amazon). If you tap a link it opens in your browser or the store's app, and we may earn a small commission on purchases, at no extra cost to you. The app does not share your personal data with these stores; once you leave the app, the third party's own privacy policy applies. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
The app requests only the camera permission, needed to use the magnifier and take photos. You can revoke it at any time from your phone's settings; without it the camera features will not work.
